Hello everyone! I have started this blog as a place to write about my educational findings. This post will be dedicated to teachers' websites that I have found and love.
1. http://www.mrsmcgowan.com/
2. http://hill.troy.k12.mi.us/staff/bnewingham/myweb3/
3. http://www.mrsjumpsclass.com/
4. http://www.mswinston.com/
These are one for each grade K-3. The first thing I noticed about each of these websites is the colors! For children ages 5-8, these are a great way to get the children's attentions right away.
Mrs. McGowan's website is a great way for children to learn at home. There are links to books and word wall words. Knowing how kids forget things at school all of the time, she has the spelling lists online so the children can have them at home too! But really, my most favorite part about her site, is that she has slide shows of the children's art work! As a parent, I would LOVE to see my child's artwork on the website!
In Beth Newingham's webpage, there is a weekly calendar. This is a fantastic way for parents and children to know what lies ahead for the week. This website also has a curriculum on it. This teacher also has pictures of her classroom on the website. I like that there are tables for the children to sit at rather than desks. I also really like the Readers Workshop area with the comfy couch and the giant library for the children to read.
Mrs. Jump's website is very colorful and enticing to the student and the parents. There's a "visit our classroom" link that, not only shows how the classroom is set up, but there are links to each thing the children learn about in the classroom for each month!
Mrs. Winston's website is nice and festive! I think that she possibly updates her site for each season. She has the curriculum on the website for each subject. She also has weekly newsletters on the site. This website also has a link for the children to go to. It has children's birthday's on it, celebrity of the week, and a link to the classroom.
Well, that's it. That's my take on these websites. I'm sure I'll be back soon with other educational updates. :)
